In September 2015, after ten years of relating to myself as a professional life coach, I came to the realization that, for me, coaching is a ministry. It took another two years to understand exactly what that meant and to discern the primary differences between 'coaching as industry' and 'coaching as ministry.' In January 2018, Exodus Coaching Ministry was launched.
Exodus, as the name implies, is about embarking upon the journey from an old way of living and into the 'promised land' - the life that each of us was uniquely made for. As a heart-centered and God-focused coach, my job is to walk with individuals every step of the way. This is a journey of faith - faith in one's own inner compass, faith in the relationship with the coach, and faith in the Almighty Benevolence that promises to lead us through the harshest of terrain and deliver the ‘goods’ in the end. Goods that are ‘good’, because they result from allowing God to steer our lives, whether they resemble our original goals or not.
In five years, Exodus Coaching Ministry - with its emphasis on accepting all who are willing to be coached, regardless of financial resources - has served hundreds of people who might not have had access to coaching otherwise. ECM has also trained and mentored more than a dozen coaches in the practice of Coaching as Ministry, so that more and more coaches can be sharing their gifts with the world, becoming more of who and what they were made to be, while guiding others to do the same.
